How ShrinkNote Web Shrink Works

Upload a Keynote deck, see a browser estimate while it uploads, then choose a free watermarked email or a paid clean download.

A Keynote deck can become enormous without looking complicated. A few camera-resolution photographs, transparent graphics, or embedded videos can turn an otherwise ordinary presentation into a file that is difficult to email, archive, or hand off.

ShrinkNote Web Shrink is the direct way to make that deck smaller. You start from the website, upload an Apple Keynote .key file, and our server returns another editable Keynote deck with its media intelligently recompressed.

The Web Shrink workflow

1

Choose your Keynote decks

Drop up to 10 .key files onto the ShrinkNote homepage. Each deck can be as large as 5 GiB.

2

Upload and estimate at the same time

After Cloudflare verification, the full deck uploads securely. At the same time, your browser reads a bounded amount of ZIP metadata to estimate the likely result. This local step is only an estimate—it never compresses or rewrites your deck.

3

Choose what authorizes processing

Enter an email at any point during upload to queue a free watermarked deck, or wait for the upload to finish and check out for a clean deck. Uploading by itself does not start compression.

4

Our server compresses and delivers

Once authorized, ShrinkNote’s server validates and compresses the uploaded Keynote. We email the result link when it is ready, so you do not need to keep the page open.

Two delivery choices

Free watermarked deck

Submit an email while the deck is uploading or afterward. That request authorizes server-side compression and queues a watermarked Keynote for email delivery.

Paid clean deck

Checkout becomes available after every selected upload finishes. Payment authorizes server-side compression and delivery of a clean Keynote without the ShrinkNote watermark.

The watermarked option is useful for evaluating the result before buying. If you already know you want a clean deck, you can go directly to checkout after upload.

Pricing without a subscription

Clean downloads cost $5 for each 100,000,000 bytes of the original deck, and each deck rounds up separately. There is no account and no subscription.

What you upload Clean-download price
One 60 MB deck $5
One 150 MB deck $10
Two 60 MB decks $10
One 250 MB deck $15

Pricing uses decimal 100 MB billing units and rounds each deck independently.

Splitting a large presentation does not reduce its price unless the separate per-deck rounding happens to change the total. You can upload the intact Keynote instead of manually breaking it apart and reassembling it.

What happens in your browser—and what does not

Web Shrink deliberately separates the estimate from the real compression:

  • The browser preflight reads limited archive metadata to confirm that the file resembles a Keynote and estimate media savings.
  • The upload sends the original deck to Cloudflare R2 storage using encrypted HTTPS.
  • The compression server processes the uploaded deck only after an email request or payment authorizes it.
  • Your browser never performs the actual image recompression or rebuilds the Keynote package.

The estimate can finish before or after the upload. Either way, it is advisory; the completed server result is authoritative.

Limits and availability

  • Keynote .key files only
  • Up to 10 decks at once
  • Up to 5 GiB per deck
  • Free watermarked delivery by email
  • Clean delivery for $5 per 100 MB billing unit
  • No application installation, login, or subscription

Unclaimed uploads normally expire after 24 hours. A watermarked-email request extends availability to 48 hours, and paid download links normally remain available for seven days. Cleanup may happen after the expiration time rather than at the exact second it passes.
