How We Protect Your Data
All Processing Happens On-Device
When you compress a Keynote file with ShrinkNote, every operation - analyzing images, optimizing video, packaging the result - happens entirely on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. We don't have servers that see your files because we don't need them.
No Network Requests During Compression
ShrinkNote doesn't need an internet connection to work. You can compress files on an airplane, in a coffee shop without Wi-Fi, or anywhere else. The app uses zero network resources for its core functionality.
Your Original Files Stay Intact
ShrinkNote never modifies your original files. It always creates a new compressed copy with "(shrunk)" added to the filename. Your source files remain exactly as they were, giving you peace of mind.
Minimal Data Collection
The only data we collect is anonymous, aggregated statistics like total bytes saved across all users - and only if you opt in to telemetry. We never see your file names, contents, or any personally identifiable information.
Sandboxed App Environment
ShrinkNote runs in Apple's secure app sandbox on both macOS and iOS. It can only access files you explicitly choose to open, and it can't read or modify files elsewhere on your system.
