Understanding Presets
ShrinkNote includes five built-in presets optimized for different use cases:
| Preset | Best For | Expected Savings |
|---|---|---|
| Lossless | Archival, no quality loss | 10-20% |
| Standard | Everyday use | 35-55% |
| Aggressive | Email/web sharing | 55-75% |
| Extreme | Maximum compression | 75-90% |
| Fast | Batch processing | 40-60% |
Tip: Start with Standard. If you need smaller files, try Aggressive. Use Lossless when preserving original quality is critical.
What Gets Compressed?
ShrinkNote analyzes your presentation and applies multiple compression techniques:
- Images: Resized to match actual display size, converted to modern formats
- Videos: Re-encoded with efficient codecs (H.265/HEVC)
- Duplicates: Identical images stored only once
- Metadata: Undo history and caches removed
Your text, animations, and transitions are preserved exactly as you created them.
Free vs. Paid

- Personal: Unlimited clean exports with built-in presets
- Pro: Custom presets, watch folders, CLI access
