Getting Started with Web Shrink

Upload a Keynote deck, review its browser estimate, and request a watermarked or clean result.

Getting Started with Web Shrink

ShrinkNote compresses Apple Keynote presentations on our server. There is no application to download and no account to create.

Before you begin

  • Use an Apple Keynote .key file.
  • You can select up to 10 decks at once.
  • Each deck can be up to 5 GiB.
  • Keep your original deck. ShrinkNote creates a separate compressed result.

1. Choose your deck

Go to the ShrinkNote homepage and drop a .key file onto the upload area, or select it with the file picker.

Cloudflare verification must pass before network upload begins. Once it does, the browser starts two independent operations:

  1. It uploads the full Keynote deck securely.
  2. It reads a bounded amount of archive metadata to estimate the compressed size.

The browser step is only a preflight estimate. It does not compress your images or rebuild the Keynote file.

2. Review the estimate

When preflight succeeds, the queue shows a conservative estimated result. Large or unusual files may not receive a local estimate; they can still be validated by the server after upload.

The estimate and upload run concurrently, so neither must wait for the other. The completed server result may differ from the estimate.

3. Choose how to authorize compression

Uploading alone does not start server-side compression. Choose one of these paths:

Free watermarked deck

Enter your email and choose Email watermarked deck. You can do this while upload is still running. The request is queued, and compression begins on ShrinkNote’s server after the upload completes.

Wait for all selected uploads to finish, then choose Unlock clean deck. Checkout is intentionally unavailable during upload.

Clean downloads cost $5 per decimal 100 MB of the original deck. Each deck rounds up separately:

Original deck size Billing units Price
Up to 100,000,000 bytes 1 $5
100,000,001–200,000,000 bytes 2 $10
200,000,001–300,000,000 bytes 3 $15

There is no subscription.

4. Receive the result

ShrinkNote’s server validates the uploaded Keynote, compresses its media, and packages a new .key file. We email the download link when it is ready, so you can close the browser after the request has been accepted.

Open the downloaded result in Keynote and review important slides, images, animations, and embedded media before replacing or distributing anything.

Availability and cleanup

  • Upload without email or payment: normally 24 hours
  • Watermarked-email request: normally 48 hours
  • Paid download: normally seven days

These are availability windows. Artifact cleanup runs automatically after expiration and may not happen at the exact expiration second.
